Dr. Sirus Vakilian
[ Chiropractor ]
Dr. Sirus Vakilian is a strong believer that health is a “state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” WHO.
He is an advocate of using the most up to date scientific research to provide his patients with evidence-based and patient-centred care.
Prior to graduating from the University of British Columbia with a kinesiology degree in 2015, he studied business at the University of Toronto. His passion for health care was a driving factor for his work as a kinesiologist alongside many health care professionals in a multidisciplinary environment. He then earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2020. While completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, he fulfilled his clinical internship at St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital (SunnyBrook) in Toronto, ON.
His motivation to become a chiropractor started in his teenage years after being involved in two severe car accidents. He was experiencing chronic headaches and back pain when he was encouraged to see a chiropractor by his family physician. After a few treatments, he was impressed with the outcome of chiropractic care for the various symptoms he was suffering from.
Dr. Vakilian has always been involved in giving back to his community through different organizations. He was an active volunteer with the Canucks Autism Network (C.A.N) who has a vision for all individuals with autism to be understood, accepted, and supported in all community spaces. He has helped enrich the lives of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder through sports and community-based activities. He has also previously volunteered for the Cypress Mountain Ski Patrol and the West Vancouver Aquatic Center.
Dr. Vakilian has been a lifelong resident of Vancouver and has been very active in the sporting community, both as an athlete as well as a trainer. Alongside his eleven years of pos-secondary education, he earned his national and international tennis coaching certification and has been heavily involved in the tennis community for over 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, running, research, and exploring his talents in the kitchen.
